THANK YOU FOR YOUR VISIT TODAY

We want to provide you with some follow-up information.

TOPICAL PRODUCT

You left the clinic today with a topical product we applied to your hair. It works in 10 to 20 minutes so wash it out within that time frame. If need be, you can leave it on for up to an hour. We recommend using our clarifying shampoo to remove the product. You may need to wash more than once to remove all residue.

HOME CLEANING

When you get home, wash and dry all pillowcases, sheets, towels, and any clothing items that treated family members have used in the last 24 hours. Studies show that it is extremely rare for lice to be on carpets, furniture, brushes, or combs. That said if it gives you peace of mind, you can vacuum and/or use a sticky lint roller on any soft surfaces. You can also place combs, hairbrushes, and any hair accessories in a plastic baggie in the freezer overnight.

There is no need to use any bug bombs or furniture spray’s that claim to kill lice. They are not necessary and may be toxic and ineffective.

SCALP CONCERNS

It is not uncommon to have some itchiness after treatment. This is not an indication that you still have lice. Itching is especially common if you have been treated with other products or have had an infestation for an extended amount of time.

It is normal to see a few stray nits after treatment. These nits are dead and will not hatch. There is no need to use any additional lice treatments unless it was recommended in the clinic. This can cause further irritation to the scalp. Please call the clinic immediately if you have any additional concerns.
